Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our Charger community. Through your role as a volunteer on campus, parents can gain a deeper understanding of their child's daily school experience, spend quality time with them, and emphasize the importance of supporting our teachers, administration and our students.

Volunteers needed around campus:

There are countless ways to give back at SMM. Some of the most common include:

• Tutoring and mentoring
• Helping in classrooms or libraries
• Organizing fundraisers
• Sharing expertise during career days
• Supporting extracurricular activities and clubs
• Collecting supplies or books

For those hesitant about school volunteering, it's important to recognize the diverse opportunities available. Contributions can range from donating supplies to organizing fundraising events.

"So how do I begin?"

1. Discuss your interest with our various clubs, organizations and groups during open house events.
2. Ask teachers how you can help during student/teacher conferences.
3. Watch for our bi-weekly Charger Chronicles to identify areas needing assistance.
4. Contact our PTO to sign up for committees.
5. Complete our Safe Environment Training
7. Enjoy your time and experience.
8. Determine your availability to avoid overcommitment.

We welcome all levels of time commitment

• **1 hour a week:** Assist with club volunteering, become a "class parent", or pray for our school through weekly adoration.
• **1 hour a month:** Help with fundraiser events through our various PTO Committees
• **1 hour a year:** Speak at career days, chaperone field trips, or help with organization and the running of our talent show, school play or Christmas party
